This series of pages will guide you through the Hemingway One Name Study. You will find details of search aids, lists of variants that are included, the geographical areas, tables of some of the data that I have available, links to other researchers etc. If you have any link with a Hemingway or variant of the name, these are the pages for you. There are over 12,000 records in my files so far. Have you signed up to the Hemingway-UK Mailing List? If you have Hemingway (and of course the standard variants of which I have around 38 at the last count) ancestors in the UK, then do please join the mailing list by subscribing to HEMINGWAY-UK-L-request@rootsweb.com sending the simple message "subscribe" - no quotes, no signature lines . Please note though that this is not a mailing list for Hemingway ancestors in other than the UK. If you have any difficulty signing up or want to know more, send me a personal email to Hemingway@one-name.org Amongst all the usual items and issues that you would expect of a One Name Researcher, I have a short term project underway to chase all recognised arms awarded to Hemingways. I am interested in the genuine arms - not the "bucket shop" arms of which there are many. This page also carries information about the latest newsletter (issued 6 October 1999) and how to subscribe to future editions. |

At the foot of this page you will see a guestbook. I would certainly appreciate it if you would take a moment to sign in. I am particularly interested to learn your own research area. Please leave me a brief indication of surname, location and date (three words is all it takes). I ask you to do this even if you want to otherwise remain anonymous and not leave your name etc. That way I can gauge the levels of interest and develop the pages accordingly. |
