Chichester Folk Song Club

Club Residents

A duo of two excellent individual performers. Sheila's lovely voice brings new life to the even the staidest of traditional songs. Alan's jazz influences give his guitar style a very different sound to that which is normally heard at a folk-club Alan's fine fiddle-playing also adds a great deal to the sound of The Beer-Break Band..Alan and Sheila are also responsible for some of our more esoteric theme nights. Alan is also a dancer with Victory Morris and also a consummate song-writer.

Alison Davies

Alison adds an air of surgical authenticity when she embarks on one of her theme songs of dismemberment and death. On the lighter side, her Child ballads bring tears to the ears. She also brings a new range of contemporary music into the club with her renditions of Buddy Holly and John Otway songs. She also has one of the largest collections of percussive instruments in the area, although she normally accompanies herself on guitar. Following a visit from Santa, Alison is now the proud owner of a Ukelele, which brings a whole new sound to the club.

Dave Garrard

A fine guitarist/singer with a wide repertoire of traditional and contemporary songs. A stalwart of the club as an M.C. and member of the Beer-break band. Much more importantly, he is the guitarist/accompanist of Sue Garrard, a charming singer of some of the most beautiful songs around.
