About PDF Files
You will see reference to PDF Files on Classical Gas and all over the Internet. If you understand them, and can read them already, then what follows is not for you! If you can't read on!
Normally Internet pages are written in a language called HTML which can be read by browsers such as Explorer and Netscape. These are available free and normally come already installed when you buy a computer.
Unfortunately if a file was written in a Word Processor or Spreadsheet it is difficult to transfer this to HTML and preserve all the formatting. This is where PDF files come in. The author composes the file in his or her favourite program and then saves it in PDF using a program called Adobe Acrobat. This PDF file can uploaded to the Web Site.
When anyone clicks on a link to a PDF file the computer opens both the Adobe Acrobat Reader program and the relevant PDF File.
However, all this happen only if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer!
