What is an Easter Egg?

Most people would like others to know about their accomplishments. Not surprisingly, software developers are no different. Since many developers don't receive much direct recognition for their work, they find creative ways to let the users of their software find out who they are.

Typically, developers display their names, pictures, or other messages in some type of hidden dialog box or window which is viewable only after several obscure keystrokes, or placed somewhere on the disk. This "undocumented feature" of many software programs is commonly known as an "Easter egg".
