Flight Sims

  Last updated 1/27/98

To take off into the blue at the controls of my own plane, to roll and loop my way through the clouds, is a recurrent dream of mine. My computer lets me to feed this dream through sophisticated flight simulator programs. My favorite single-player sim is Red Baron, which models World War I combat aircraft.

Multiplayer flight sims played over computer networks allow me to indulge myself in air combat operations with other real and wannabe pilots in the virtual skies of cyberspace. It's a real rush, sweaty palms included. I'm a proud member of the Flying Squirrel Air Force (FSAF), a select group from Compuserve's Flight Sim Forum (GO FSFORUM) who fly group operations in Air Warrior and WarBirds. On both sims I fly as <FS> Meatball. My Air Warrior "tail number" is -mb- while on War Birds 2.0 you can recognize me as "meatsa".
