This section is based on the standard LMS roof section. We actually produced the
profile of the rain gutter from the LMS Period 1 coaches, but this very small item
would look at home on all other LMS coaches. Our recent research on coaches of the
other Big Four companies shows that this section is equally usable on these railways'
stock in many cases, as well as some of the later coaches of the pre-Group Railways,
notably the Midland, from whose stock the early LMS designs were developed.
The section is produced in drawn aluminium, with a V-notch in the underside of the centreline to allow easy drilling for ventilators. The section has a thickness of 1.8mm. which makes it very strong but not overscale where it is visible at the ends.
We sell the section in 65 centimetre or 2 metre lengths.
