Let's face it, panelled coaches are a fiddle to produce. We have found that 4
wheel coach bodies are small enough to produce as a single resin casting, even in
Gauge 1, and that the roof can be cast as an integral part of the moulding. The
result? - a single casting which simply needs a a second resin cast floor/chassis
unit to complete the main structure. So far we have produced
LBSCR 5 compartment All third and Brake third coaches. These are designed to run with our Terrier, but would look very well on any light railway layout.
The model is made up of the two main resin components (body and floor) with whitemetal W irons which include sprung axleboxes. Buffers are turned brass bodies and steel buffer heads and are also sprung. Completion of the kit is within anyone's grasp - a very rewarding way to start your gauge 1 project.
Coming soon!
For those of you who like light railways, and the generally decrepid, we shall
also be producing the ex North London Railway, third class 4 wheeler. These coaches
were sold to a large number of light railways, and with their distinctive oval class
marking panels on the doors make an attractive model.
