These models have chassis milled from brass with cast iron driving wheels. Electrical power can be via 2-rail, stud contact or battery - the locomotives have a switch allowing selection of any of these so that the model can be used on "foreign" rails whose power supply arrangements are different from your own. The motor is the popular Buhler driving through a double reduction gearbox to provide superb slow running and excellent haulage power.
Superstructures are from nickel silver, with turned brass and lost wax cast fittings.
Paint finishes are simple on the basic models - black with the relevant lettering but more complex liveries can be provided at extra cost. For example, the 2P 4-4-0 can be supplied in the beautiful blue livery of the Somerset & Dorset joint railway.
