Wavecom W51PC DSP Digital Data Decoder PCI Card

Simply the very best professional data decoder available worldwide - at a reasonable price! The PCI bus, more calculating power, bigger bandwidth, multiple cards per PC and more flexible in- and outputs make this decoder card the first choice for setting up complex monitoring and surveillance systems. The W51PC Digital Data Decoder Card uses the same Windows-based user interface as the W40PC and W41PC Digital Data Decoder Cards. The full support of Windows 98 ME NT 2000 XP ... operating systems lets the W51PC easily communicate with other applications. Real DSP technology is combined with today's high PC power.

Aircraft Communication and Reporting System (ACARS) decoding

The W51PC card offers all the necessary functions to analyze, decode, record and process radio communication transmissions. The complete hardware is realized on a half-length PCI card. The W51PC can be used in different ways:

This allows the system to be adapted to the client's needs and applications. Using an AF or IF signal, the W51PC decodes a variety of text and graphical transmission modes. The detection of signal parameters is assisted by a large number of analysis and measurement functions that operate over a wide range. The W51PC is the next advanced version of the world famous line of WAVECOM decoders that Klingenfuss Radio Monitoring has promoted - and consequently used daily! - from its very creation.

Two additional audio outputs are now available. No interrupt is required. To analyze, demodulate and detect signals, a new wideband Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) with a bandwidth of 192 kHz has been added. All inputs are on a separate piggy-pack module, for more flexibility and special requirements. The W51PC is equipped with two Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). The DSPs with their power and efficiency allow the realization of real-time demodulators. The large memory allows for sufficient data buffering, allowing you to run multiple cards on the same computer. Another part of the W51PC application runs on the PC, making the whole computing power of the PC available for the data processing.

Combined Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) and sonagram signal analysis

The W51PC application software can utilize DCOM to communicate with the W51PC hardware over the network. Up to eight W51PC cards can be plugged into a single PC, providing basis for a high performance signal decoding system. This combined with the network capabilities allows a system to be extended for many possible configurations. Complex systems for massive data handling are only limited by the performance of the used computers and the network. Operation over a network is completely transparent to the user. The configuration of the system components can be completely adapted to particular needs. A W51PC card can be controlled from everywhere and its output can be sent to one or more applications on the network. Any PC can be set up as a management console to control a whole network. Any PC can be used to remote-control W51PC cards for decoding, storing, hard disk recording, analyzing and so on. To realize such configurations, high performance networks are recommended.

The W51PC application is a full 32-bit Windows application providing a familiar user interface and system functions. This has the advantage of automatically supporting graphics adaptors, printers and other functions that are supported by the operating system. Multi-window display capabilities make it possible to view different signals or to compare different analysis representations of a single signal simultaneously. The availability of sophisticated software development tools allows the rapid implementation of new functions. The easy-to-use man-machine interface with clearly structured pull-down menus allows an operator to become familiar with the W51PC in a short time. A high degree of operator proficiency can quickly be achieved.

All of the integrated analysis tools contain different measuring methods and viewing options. It helps you to examine the important signal parameters in detail. The W51PC reaches a unique precision and operates with highest resolutions. It is easy to make exact measurements using adjustable cursors with associated numerical displays. Dynamic zoom functions allow magnification of details in any selected window. Scroll buffering makes it possible to move back and forward within signal history. Real-time Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) functions with a fast display refresh rate are realized with high-speed MOTOROLA DSP chips. Additional functions provide powerful tools especially suitable for analyzing unknown signals. A wide range of default system settings can be configured. Some examples are, input signal level, sampling rate, measuring interval, centre frequency and demodulator. Additionally a variety of international alphabets can be selected.

More than 130 systems are currently implemented (see here). What's more, we can deliver to authorized official bodies only certain additional modes, and the software source code plus the complete development environment. (This means precisely that the special software version is available for official government bodies only against a written certificate!) This allows the professional customer to realize own decoding modes or to adapt the user interface to specific requirements.

Typical fields of application for the W51PC card include:

Within official bodies and telecommunication authorities, the range of applications is from stationary monitoring of one transmission with a single system to fully automated broadband monitoring with a network of cooperating systems. The frequency range covers a spectrum from the audio frequencies up to microwaves. The fully documented DCOM based remote control interface makes integration into almost every user environment very easy. This could be the direct decoding of a single, fixed frequency transmission or the overall signal analysis of a complete pager network. Automatic mode recognition of FSK modes makes completely autonomous operation possible. Decoded data can be routed to be processed by user applications running on the same or another computer in the network. The alarm-monitor included with the W51PC is an example of such an application. It will play a sound and/or send a pager message if it detects some preselected words in the received text.

Alarm monitor: All data decoded/received from text modes is scanned simultaneously for up to ten different user-defined alarm strings, and different alerts are produced accordingly (with optional audio alerts or user-set .wav audio files). Alarm text files can be automatically saved and forwarded e.g. via Short Message Service (SMS) to your cellphone anywhere in the world!

With such applications the data output of the W51PC can also be used to control receivers, recording equipment or be fed into complex data analysis tools for post processing. Another tool included with the W51PC is the SAT C monitor. This tool will save, sort and restore the data received from a SAT C channel. Time stamps generated by the system are automatically added to every line of the data to ensure precise back-tracking of any signal.

Wavecom W51LAN DSP Digital Data Decoder Box

High portability and quick computer changes makes this LAN system the first choice for setting up mobile, outdoor monitoring and surveillance environments in combination with a notebook. All functions of the W51PC DSP digital data decoder card are available. The W51LAN is a product that offers all the necessary functions to analyze, decode, record and process radio communication transmissions. The complete hardware is realized in a small metal cabinet. This allows the system to be adapted to the clients' needs and applications:

Using an audio or IF signal, the W51LAN decodes a variety of text and graphical transmission modes. The detection of signal parameters is assisted by a large number of analysis and measurement functions that operate over a wide range.
