• I live in Prince William County, Virginia and have been involved in various aspects of genealogical research for over 25 years. I've been a member of the Genealogy Forum on CompuServe for nearly 9 years. I'm an avid computer genealogist, belonging to such organizations as the National Genealogical Society (NGS) [LIFETIME MEMBER]; the Virginia Historical Society (VHS); the Virginia Genealogical Society; and the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society [LIEFETIME MEMBER] of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. • LANTZ -- Daniel Lantz (died between 1816 and 10 May 1824 and more likely -- before 1820 according to US Census records) married Margaret ----- and had: John, Jacob, George, Sophia, Clarissa (1799-1854), Mary, Margaret, Eliza, Susan, and Juliana. Lived in vicinity of Skipton (present day Oldtown), Allegany County, Maryland. Clarissa LANTZ married George CATLETT, 3 Nov 1822. Seeking identity of parents of Daniel LANTZ and identification of his wife's surname. A family group sheet on file with the NGS Library in Arlington, VA suggests that Margaret was a KIMBERLY.

• MCKINNON -- North Carolina to Georgia, 1780-1860.

• PAULING or PAWLING -- Holland or England to Kingston, Ulster Co., New York, colonial period.

• SHOWALTER -- Switzerland to Pennsylvania.

• WEISS -- Southeastern Pennsylvania, early 18th century to late 19th century. (Name change to WISE after move to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, late 19th century).
