My BEAUVAIS dit St. GEMME the line begins with the Montreal Immigrants: Jacques Beauvais and Jeanne Solde. Jacques came to Montreal about 1652. His wife, Jeanne came in "Le Grande Recue" 1653. They were married at Notre Dame Montreal in Jan 1654.I have a large database of descendants of this couple, thanks to many of my Compuserve and Internet friends. Also, because the records kept by the Societé de La Historique de Laprairie." The ancestor who came to Michigan was Medard Beauvais, also know as Medard St. James.

My paternal grandmother was Alma Anna White the daughter of William Leroy White and Ellen Taylor Merrill. Both the White line and the Merrill line can be traced to the early days of the American Colonies. William Leroy White is a descendant of Elder John White who came in 1632 , with the Winthrop Fleet on the Lyon. William Leroy White's parents were William Wirt White and Mary Jane Washburn. Mary Jane's Washburn line includes descent from 5 Mayflower Piligrims: Isaac Allerton, Frances Cooke, John Howland, John Tilley, and Richard Warren. The family lines are found mostly in the Connecticut River Valley, until William Leroy White and Ellen Taylor Merrill came to Detroit in 1900.

England
My English lines are found mostly in Norfolk and Suffolk. That is when I can find them. My grandfather George Henry BUTCHER, was born in Hoxne, Suffolk but raised in Breckles, Norfolk. He came to the US to work with my grandmother's brother, Matthew TENNANT, in 1913. In 1915 he sent for my grandmother, Milly TENNANT. He booked her passage on the SS Lusitana in June of 1915. Good thing it was a outgoing trip, for the incoming trip was the trip that was a diaster for that ship. The BUTCHER line comes from Debenham, Hinderclay and Hoxne, Suffolk with a brief stay in Manchester. The BUTCHER line appears to go back to the early 1600's in Debenham, Suffolk.
Other families on that line are PALMER . This line comes from Norfolk near the Suffolk boarder, my gggrandmother, Ruth Isabelle PALMER was born in Bethnal Green. But she and her widowed mother are found in 1881 in Beccles. The PALMER line that I am looking for is that of James Anthony PALMER and Amelia CUNNINGHAM (b.1835 Topcroft, Norfolk) daughter Robert and Ruth CUNNINGHAM. The nine children of Robert and Ruth CUNNINGHAM that I have found were born in several Norfolk parishes (Hedenham, Hendringham, Bedingham, Hempnall, Woodton) before 1849. Between 1841 and 1851 the family moved to Brampton, Suffolk and remained there until after 1881.
The TENNANT line, that of William TENNANT and Ann POOLEY is found in the area of Shipdham, Norfolk. I have information about four generations on that line. The POOLEY line comes from Cranworth cum Letton, Norfolk. Ann POOLEY's family resided in Caston, Norfolk.
