Outcomes of Laser-assisted

We are collaborating with ENT
colleagues to audit pre-operative
protocols and outcomes of laser
assisted uvulo-palatoplasty (LAUP) in the management of snoring and mild sleep apnoea.

Reassessment  of sleep investigation

Full polysomnography and multiple sleep latency tests are carried out in a 2- bedded  suite with mobile facility with over 300 referrals per year. The team runs a programme of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy (CPAP)  and support for  over 80 patients with  Obstructive Sleep Apnoea to reduced hazardous drowsiness, snoring and other morbidity.. The team has also been successful in managing small numbers of patients on home nocturnal nasal ventilation, and patients with narcolepsy.

A networked computerized database has  been developed in-house to manage the data and to assist in audit and research.
