GermanGiant's WA Biography
GermanGiant started his online existence on CompuServe's CB Simulator in February 1994 and came to WorldsAway on 8-31-1995. Since then he has started various activities in WorldsAway and the WorldsAway Community forum.
- Owner of the WorldsAway Yellow & White Pages (GermanGiant's main business). The file YELLOW.TXT in Library 3 (Newsstand) in the WorldsAway Community Forum (GO:AWAYFORUM on CompuServe) contains a list of inworld companies and organisations of WorldsAway and email addresses of Avatars, the inhabitants of WorldsAway. In 1996 GermanGiant added websites to his file, and as soon as turfs will be available you will find a list of turf names in the Yellow Pages, too.
- Owner of GermanGiant Marketing & Advertising, the first advertising agency of WorldsAway.
- With Kymer Bingo Jackpot Gambling GermanGiant brought some new features to the inworld game that was programmed by Wert P Gumby. He was the first to host Kymer Bingo with various bets for the players and a payout depending on the number of bets. Artema set the record with 8000 Tokens, a 16:1 for a 500T bet. With this bet limit GermanGiant was accepting the highest bets in Kymer. In early 1996 GermanGiant invented today's popular Jackpot feature to Bingo games. With additional 10 Tokens per round the players had the chance to win the rapidly climbing amount of Tokens with a complete inner square on their Bingo card before anyone had a row of 5 numbers in the same round. In his MEAN BINGO games only the third to call Kymer got the payout. For advanced players he ran the MASTERS (Straight Bingo with bet range 100 - 1000T) and the MEGA MASTERS (Blackout with bet range 200 - 1000T). GermanGiant retired from hosting Bingo on 2-24-96.
- Since May 1996 GermanGiant is hosting Poker games. Most of the games are held in his office turf, Yellow Pages. As if he had nothing better to do there ....
- Together with Eärendil, Elwing, Acolyte Indigo, MarvL, Zippy and the alternate member Angel Gambler GermanGiant was elected by the population of Kymer to the WorldsAway Guidelines Committee. From September to December 1995 these six avatars tried to focus the public opinion into one file which is available as WAGUIDES.TXT in the WorldsAway Community Forum now. These Guidelines are some sort of FAQ about the life and habits of the community of avatars. The committee resolved in December 1995 after the file was available for the public.
- In September 1995 GermanGiant founded the Citizen Of the Month Award. Based on recommendations of other avatars GermanGiant handed more than 10000 Tokens in total to several avatars who had been outrageous members of the WA society. Because of decreasing attention GermanGiant stopped this award in November 1995. The very first Award winner was Spark who had found and returned 1400 Tokens which Big Kahoona had lost in the streets of Kymer. The picture shows (from left to right) GermanGiant, Big Kahoona and Spark.
- GermanGiant QuickSurveys are yet a WA Forum activity only. From time to time GermanGiant is asking questions to a "hot" topic in a forum message and invites the forum members to respond to them in the forum or by email. The results are published after a few days in the forum, too. Several FCT employees watch these results, although they are wearing different glasses <g> ....
- After the bunch of players got tired of the ancient Token Tag game, GermanGiant talked to Oracle Teresias and was happy to receive a unique and already legendary item in December 1995 - the Fruitcake, also called "da froot". Since then this Fruitcake gets passed from avatar to avatar, with no other sense than to get rid of it as quickly as possible again. Where it is now? Who knows <shrug> .... but maybe soon a good friend of yours has a surprise for you <g> ....
