What schools and libraries have
said:
Geoffrey needs no introduction to Newington
as he is a regular visitor here and every time he just keeps getting
better and better. He has a brilliant rapport with the boys and the
juniour History classes have found him a scintillating source of
information with his outrageous tales of travel to 'historical'
sites.

Discourser, Newington College NSW,
Vol. 10, No.5, 2005
The children from St. Kevins thought
Geoffrey was fantastic. Some are saying he is the best author we have
ever had. They are rushing the shelves to borrow his books.

Primary School, Eastwood, NSW, September 2004
Children's author Geoffrey McSkimming
enthralled and entertained our Year 5-7 students with stories of his
adventures in far off lands, and of his inspiration for writing the
wonderful Cairo Jim series. His novels have been in great demand ever
since.
--Strathpine State School,
Qld Newsletter: 3 September, 2003
Geoffrey McSkimming had the Year 7s
transfixed as he described a few of his memorable experiences
including his adventures in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt;
venturing into the depths of the pyramids at Giza in Egypt; trekking
through the Andes mountains to reach the abandoned city of Machu
Picchu; camping in the cloudforests of Peru and many more
spine-tingling adventures. To continue writing original stories for
the Cairo Jim series, Geoffrey must visit these ancient cities as
part of his research.

NSW newsletter Term 4 2003
The highlight of the month was a visit (to
Randwick City Library) by children's author Geoffrey McSkimming.
Geoffrey is the author of the famous Cairo Jim series of books and
had the audience laughing non-stop for more than an hour.
--Public Library News Vol 8
No. 1 March 2002
Cairo Jim, that well-known archaeologist
and little-known poet, and his companions Doris the macaw and Brenda
the Wonder Camel partake of many sizzling adventures. They are always
larger-than-life with over-the-top situations and lots of gags and
play-on-words. If you are not yet familiar with the extraordinary Jim
of Cairo, get reading! Laughs guaranteed.
--St Kevin's College,
Toorak, Vic, newsletter
Geoffrey was just such a hit with the
students and teachers at Kurwongbah -- there is still a real BUZZ
around the school! There has been an incredible rush on the Cairo Jim
books and very excited parents following up with stories of their
children who sat up and read their new, signed copies of Cairo Jim
all night! It all went smoothly and was a huge success. We just love
Geoffrey and will most certainly invite him for another visit in the
future. We enjoyed Geoffrey's tales and storytelling so much!
