Elements of the USS Third Fleet used several derelict vessels remaining from week 32 action as shields. This tactic succeeded in preventing the KZK victory from becoming a total route, as the Kazereckii units were forced to use valuable combat assets in blowing the ring of derelicts before concentrating fire against the USS targets.

In spite of Admiral Twillfeather's inspired tactics, the USS suffered heavy losses. The USS Pocket Battleships the Quick and the Dead proved to have been named accurately, and were blown by round two.

Unconfirmed scan reports indicate that two USS Warcruisers were derelicted during the action, and only the flagship, the USS Glass Darkly, escaped the Kazereckii onslaught.

In a related sidebar, the former RIP vessel Stormbringer was also blown by the KZK units. There were no survivors.
