KZK Government


The Hive Queens

The Hive Queens are the ultimate authority in the KZK. They rarely involve themselves in the day-to-day affairs of the government, preferring to decide goals and directions and allowing the Drones to decide how to accomplish these general instructions. Hive Queens never communicate with non-KZK. Out of character, this represents the KZK players who decide the most important matters involving the race as a team.

K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii

(in Human known as KZK Central Command). Senior Drone BattleBugs who have proven themselves. There are many in the council. This is the part of the KZK government that is most likely to communicate with other races. All day-to-day decisions regarding the KZK are made here. Out of character, this represents the KZK PD player.

Kazereckii Merchant Marine

The most recent addition to the KZK government structure, this organization is a sub-affiliation within the KZK. K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii determined the need for this organization by observing the other races in known space. They all seemed to have a common concept of 'civillian' affairs as opposed to 'military' affairs. This is clearly not as efficient as the previous KZK structure where all KZK beings and assets were part of the military. However, it became increasingly difficult to deal with non-KZK races without having at least some common ground on which to base the communication. Thus the KMM.

The KMM is responsible for maintaining foreign relations with races within the Capellan Periphery. It does not initiate foreign policy, but does maintain it once agreements have been made by K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii. The KMM also 'owns' most of the KZK transport and exploration vessels and determines their use. It sets up and runs the markets at public KZK colonies.

The KMM reports to K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii. It is headquarted at KZK Kommercia Hive, which it governs. Out of character, this represents the Assistant PD of the KZK. We are actively recruiting someone to fill this position.

Colony Governors

All KZK colonies that produce items other than research points are managed by governors who belong to the KMM. Out of character, this represents the fact that all KZK assets are hopefully used for the betterment of the KZK as a whole.

If there is a Hive Queen residing at the colony, the Hive Queen can override anything the KMM Colony Governor wants to do, as the Hive Queens are always the ultimate authority in Kazereckii affairs. Out of character, this represents the fact that individual players may own KZK colonies, and if they do, they get the final word on what happens in their colony.


KZK Religion


The Kazereckii follow their WarGod, Kazerack. He/She/It is both sexless and all sexes. Observers outside of the KZK have noted that the rank-and-file of the KZK are more likely to be fervent believers than the leadership. Some have hypothesized that the Hive Queens invented Kazerack to help keep the rest of the KZK in line.

Be that as it may, there are many KZK who are fanatic in their devotion to Kazerack, the God and Goddess of Eight Eyes. The KZK often refer to themselves as 'The Peoples of Kazerack'.


War and the KZK


There have been two very significant discoveries by the new KZK since they have emerged from their involuntary exile. The first is that the revered ancestor SAM still exist, and are hostile to the KZK. The second is that there are beings who have defined a state of things that doesn't include War.

To the KZK, there is only War and NotWar. NotWar does not often happen, and then only with the most trusted of allies. War is the normal state of a being, and of a government.

The KZK recognize many different tools of War. Some are Diplomacy, others are Trade. But all are War. The insistance of the other races that in fact Diplomacy and Trade are NotWar is very confusing to the KZK. Part of the reason that the Kazereckii Merchant Marine was formed was to analyze this re-definition of WarByTrade and see if it can be used to KZK advantage.


Bugs and the KZK


The Kazereckii are descended from the Samillian race. One of the very first actions of the re-emergent KZK was to contact the SAM and attempt to re-establish freindship and inter-community with the revered Samillians. Shockingly, the SAM rejected the KZK, referring to them as 'degenerates', and have been actively hostile towards the KZK.

Obviously the Samillians have changed. They no longer possess the magnificent culture or technology spoken of in the legends. Fortunately, other races of Samillian descent were also found, some of whom were warmer to the KZK embrace. The KZK feel that all Samillian races should be working towards the good of all, much as a KZK Drone labors for the good of the KZK. They believe that this will some day occur, although it may require more time and work than would ever have been guessed.
