Pre 195 | Year 195| Year 196
Come and listen to a story 'bout a Bug named Biff,
a good Samillian, he was shootin' up some Snits.
But the war went bad, cut him off from family,
then he found hisself stuck out in the Periphery.

Capellan, that is. Ice cold. No technology.

Now the Bug huddled up and dug in against the cold,
fought to survive, lost space travel tech of old.
Worst thing of all was the loss of the HiveMind,
but he grew hisself some fur and adapted to his bind.

The Kazereckii (KZK) are an offshoot of the Samillian (SAM) race that were stranded in the Periphery in ancient times. They have evolved their own society and adapted to life away from the rest of the SAM hives and are therefore more independent than the average SAM and each individual KZK has much more personal identity than a SAM.

Life has been difficult in the Periphery at best. The KZK were forced to adapt to brutal living conditions at their two colony worlds, Kolars in Spikan and [censored]. As a result, the KZK have developed extreme toughness. They are deadly ground fighters. Each KZK resembles a cross between a giant wolf and a giant ant (the small bodily hairs of a KZK being more dense and pronounced than a SAM’s).

The KZK developed and recovered the technology left over from the SAM over the years. The only SAM tech that they have failed to recover is that of the Cargo Carrier ship design, and research is ongoing [research completed week 32, 195]. They have, however, been able to salvage the two Cargo Carriers crashed on Niffff, and have been joined by the sole survivor of the Kolarian KZK, the Cargo Carrier Kazerack.

In 189, the hives on Kolars were destroyed by the Stellar Empire in a dispute over territory. The other hives, prior to that, were preparing to enter the interstellar world, having completed the research to build the War Cruiser and Scout Explorer class ships. Events on Kolars convinced the Hive Queens to remain hidden. They were deeply offended by the display on Kolars put on by the Stellar Empire, but they respect that the IMP are within their rights to exercise their power in their territory. They would like to avenge the Kolars KZK and High Queen Anachia of Kzurchia Hive by obtaining their own territory by carving it out of the Stellar Empire. However, they are not interested in any sort of "jihad" against the IMPs or anyone else. They want to acquire territory, period, and would prefer that it come out of the IMP’s pocket.

The Queens of Niffff have learned from the events of Kolars that discretion, treachery and so forth are necessary to exist in the sphere of humans, so they will use that lesson well. High Queen Anachia’s sense of honor and refusal to negotiate spelled her downfall and that of her Hives. The new KZK Queens will not make the same mistake. They will also not make the same mistake as High Queen Anachia in exposing their Hives to attack. The new KZK Hives are built far under the ice and are immune from bombardment from space.

The new KZK Hive Queens finally felt secure enough to venture forth from their Hives and to begin to acquire their most prized possession, territory.

Year 195

The new KZK first emerged from their involuntary exile early in the year. They found a Periphery dominated by Humans, and the nemesis of the old Kolarian KZK, the Empire. Their first actions were to negotiate with those around them, identifying potential friends and enemies, and determine long term strategies based on these contacts.
By week 25, the KZK had negotiated a state of wary friendliness with the Empire. Other Samillian races were located, and among them, the PGJ wished to become allies. Other friendly races were discovered, and several trade agreements forged.

Week 30:
[KZK Policy Statement] K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii analyze the war declared by the SAM against the PGJ and determine that the SAM are practicing genocide. The PGJ are friends of the KZK. Only one action is possible, and the KZK declare war against the SAM in an attempt to distract the SAM and buy some time for the PGJ to build up their defenses.

Week 31:
The first engagement over Harlop in the Tesni system. Two KZK warcruisers engage the colony SAM Piccadilly, the only known Samillian facility in the Periphery.

Week 32:
K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii announces that the KZK have completed their research to recover Cargo Carrier construction technology.

Two RIP vessels hired by friends of the SAM (unconfirmed rumours implicate the WCE) engage the KZK vessels blockading Harlop. One is destroyed. Elements of the USS Third Fleet appear at the behalf of their SAM allies, and open fire against the KZK and the surviving RIP vessel. The Third Fleet is victorious

Week 34:
[KZK Press Release] Ten units of the KZK Fleet engage five units of the USS Third Fleet, supported by SAM Piccadilly. The KZK re-establish space superiority over Harlop. But there are many casualties. A KZK ground assault against SAM Piccadilly is repulsed.

Week 35:
The KZK announce that they have split their government into two branches. The Kazereckii Merchant Marine is formed as a sub-affiliation under the command of the KZK, and charged with maintaining all civilian branches of government. Coinciding with this announcement, the colony EEM Valka on Petroom in the Newbian system is acquired by the KZK to be the headquarters of the new KMM.

[Joint KZK/IMP Press Release] As it's first act, the Kazereckii Merchant Marine applies for and receives a provisional Charter from the Imperial Government, causing protest by several of the human Chartered Companies.

Week 36:
The KZK are unable to support their Harlop fleet. The USS is reinforced by WCE Man O Wars, while SAM Piccadilly is kept in supply by cloaked blockade runners from the USS and the WCE. The survivors of the KZK fleet are derelicted.

Week 37:
[SAM Press Release] Kazereckii ground forces engage the colony SAM Piccadilly, successfully overcoming light resistance and capturing the colony. Failures in communication prevent the KZK from boarding and capturing WCE vessels in Piccadilly space port.

The KZK contact the SAM, and offer to return the colony Piccadilly and end the Harlop conflict if the SAM will end their genocidal war against the PGJ. The offer is rebuffed. The KZK publicly announce that they are holding Piccadilly for the SAM, and that no contents or inhabitants of the colony will be adversely affected by the KZK occupation.

Week 39:
[KZK Press Release] The SAM finally arrive over Harlop themselves. Six ships, including five SAM-crewed Flagritz Baseships, enter orbit and proceed to destroy everything on the planet surface including Piccadilly. There are more than 2500 casualties among the Samillian colonists.

Week 40:
The first public KMM market is established at KZK Kommercia Hive (formerly EEM Valka).

Week 41:
The KZK announce that they will no longer be attacking the SAM at Harlop, as there is nothing left there to fight over. The KZK consider their Harlop operations to have been successful in delaying SAM actions against the PGJ. This is confirmed by the SAM themselves in their own press release regarding the SAM/PGJ war.

Week 45:
A KMM scouting vessel is attacked by the RIP Expedition (4091). The Scout/Explorer escapes with minimal damage. The RIP vessel is Posted by the KZK.

Week 47:
A KZK colony's ground combat ring is scouted by an anonymous ground party Greywolf (996).

Week 48:
Diplomatic contacts indicate that ground party Greywolf is RIP. The KZK publicly Post the offending GP.

Week 49:
Three FGZ(th) Base Ships crewed by the Grey FGZ faction and supported by an FGZ(th) Myrship enter the space square of Petroom and open fire on all FGZ(n) and IND ships present. The FGZ(th) destroy the IND Jade Legacy, a survey cruiser belonging to Jan Van Tanstaafl, a human employed by the KZK.

The same Base Ships, joined by four Nomad FGZ Base Ships succesfully draw the fire of GTT forces in Petroom's space square, and later in the week, in the adjoining space square 1838. All seven of the GTT vessels are destroyed, having caused only minimal damage to the Flagritz.

Week 50:
[KZK Press Release] KZK forces locate the KZK-Posted ground party Greywolf. It is a small RIP guerilla unit. Several Superwarriors quickly dispatch the GP.

[PCOC Announcement] Kommercia Hive, along with the three other major colonies on Petroom, form a new defense organization (Petroom Chamber of Commerce) and declare that space square 1738 of the Newbian system is a Free Trade Zone. No one except the PCOC and the IMPs are allowed to initiate any combat in the space square.

Year 196

Week 1:
The Kazereckii protest the destruction of the IND Jade Legacy by the FGZ in week 49. The Imperial government determines that the Flagritz action in fact consists of piracy and posts four FGZ vessels including the Myrship Scout 22.

The Flagritz and Kazereckii negotiate a peaceful resoloution to the issue of KZK BaseShips, and those already acquired by the KZK are removed from the FGZ posted list.

Week 2:
The Imperials receive the Myrship Scout 22 from the Flagritz, and turn it over to the KZK as reparations for the destruction of the SC Jade Legacy. Scout 22 is re-crewed with Drones and sent to the Nexus to augment KZK efforts there.

[Anonymous Battle Report] A lone RIP vessels tests the resolve of the IMP/PCOC fleet at Newbian (including KZK vessles), and quickly regrets the decision.

Week 5:
Kommercia Hive, the home of the Kazereckii Merchant Marine, first opens it's restricted market by offering Sonic Blasters, Cybernetic Minds and Vermite for sale to all of the IMP-Charter companies except the USS.

Week 6:
Kommercia Hive sensors detect the presence of 27 Drones on the USS vessel Psychotic Vista. Since the USS did capture Kazereckii vessels during the Harlop interdiction, it is feared that these Drones may represent KZK POW's. Inquiries are begun but hampered by the USS vessel's inability to communicate in an intelligible fashion.

Week 7:
The situation regarding the Psychotic Vista accelerates. The Kazereckii advise the USS PV to heave to for boarding, with the intention of interogating the Drones themselves to determine their origin. The Samillian Hegemony averts hostilities by stating that the Drones are SAM and not KZK and vouch for the USS PV's Drone hauling activity.

A Foelian ground party (Deeper Strike) is spotted by KZK recon planes in the ground sector of SMS Hydrothora.

Week 8:
Ground Party KZK 2nd Komm Airborne shuttles to the location of the Foelian GP with orders to shoot on sight but the FOE have left and no battle occurs.

Week 9:
An IND ground party, the Sacrificial Lambs, scouts out the Ground Combat ring of KZK Kommercia Hive.

Two USS 3rd Fleet vessels, the Air and the Fire King, attack and derelict a ZCS ship (the Golden Elephant) orbiting Petroom. As combat is outlawed in the Petroom Free Trade Zone, the USS action is decried and the PCOC posts the offending vessels. Several affiliations including the KZK add the two ships to their own posted lists to remove any dount as to the legitimacy of the PCOC action.

Week 10:
The IND GP Sacrificial Lamb attacks Kommercia Hive. The attacker consisted of but a single MEK unit so the battle was brief albeit colorful.

Simultaneously, small IND GPs attack all of the other colonies on Petroom. Two of the GTT colonies on the planet prove to be completely undefended and fall to the IND invader. Several outposts on Petroom are also re-programmed by the IND.

Colony IND Sidhe, formerly GTT Sindhe until taken earlier in the week by an IND GP, suddenly sprouts space combat capability where it had possessed none before, and uses ten Sonic Blasters to attack KZK and SMS ships in orbit. IND Sidhe is destroyed by the response from the other Petroom colonies in defense of the KZK and SMS ships.

Week 11:
The PCOC begins tracking down and removing the offending IND ground parties. The GTT retake the remaining IND colony, IND Liverpool, and find evidence in it's order log that the colony had been ordered to support FOE, RIP and IND. Further investigation reveals that the ships USS Psychotic Vista and USS Earth had landed in the colony and delivered space weaponry to it. The same type and number of space weapons that someone had also delivered to IND Sidhe. The coincidence is striking. The USS 3rd Fleet commands all of the USS ships involved, and is barred from the Petroom Free Trade Zone by unanimous declaration of all the PCOC Member Colonies.

Week 12:
PCOC cleanup of the IND irritation is completed. The 1st Komm Airborne captures several injured prisoners from three of the IND ground parties and interrogates them. They are hardened mercenaries ordered to disrupt mining operations on Petroom and do not disclose any additional information.

Week 13:
[FGZ Declaration] The Ataman of the Flagritz, Den of Earth, decides that now is the time to seek vengeance against GTT CEO Marshall Whispers for the dishonors Whispers has caused. There is some confusion over exactly what these dishonors are, but regardless the Ataman promises to level GTT Gaspree in one week unless Whispers surrenders himself to the FGZ.

Gaspree is a PCOC Member Colony, and the PCOC rallies to the defense of the GTT. The Imperials station several ships in Petroom's orbit to assist in the defense.

Week 16:
The Flagritz finally show up over Petroom, but in the space square and not in orbit. The FGZ do not engage the IMP/GTT/KZK/SSL/SMS/QSN/ZCS fleet now in place to repel them. The defensive force continues to grow weekly.

[IMP Declaration] The Imperials acknowledge the presence of the FGZ vessels by declaring war against the FGZ.

[TCA Declaration] Not to be outdone, the TCA chooses this opportune time to declare war against the Imperials.

Week 17:
[SAM Declaration] And just so no one is left out of the party, the Samillians choose to declare war against the Empire.

[KZK Ceded Northcape] The KZK are active in assisting the Empire via WarByDiplomacy, and apparently manage to end the TCA/IMP war by accepting the Imperial cession of the Northcape system.

[KZK Policy Statement] The Kazereckii immediately announce a policy of strict neutrality for the Northcape system in the hopes of avoiding a KZK/TCA war over the system.
