About 20 or 21 of my ancestors came to the United States from Norway in the time period 1850 to 1890.
The families of both grandfathers came from the island of Karmøy on the west coast of Norway in Rogaland fylke, near Haugesund. some farm names: Fagerland, Ådland, Sandhåland, Vik (in Skudenes), Liknes, Åkra, Sund, Sørhaug, Austrei(m), and many more.
The family of my paternal grandmother came from the Østerdalen region of Hedmark, from Tolga and neighboring parishes. Farms include: Nygård, Øversjøen, Søndmør, Hodalen, Langsjøvoll, Vingelsåsen, and others get into the Os and Engerdal and Rendalen parishes.
The family of my maternal grandmother came from the Hadeland region in the southern part of Oppland fylke, in the Gran and Brandbu parishes. Farms include: Kjos, Dvergsten, Dahlen, Myre, Helmei, Klovstad, Sandbekk.
I was born in 1950 and live in Crosby, North Dakota. I carry on the tradition of the majority of my ancestors by farming nearby. In 1993 I married Sue Berosik (Susan Catherine Leffler), and I have 3 stepchildren: Christina Berosik, David Berosik, and Matthew Berosik.
