Note the change in lighting between these two images as Mir moves into the sunlight. You can see some handrails external to Mir on the right hand side and the long dark shape could be the supply rocket?

This was the day of the projected Znamya 2-5 experiment. At dusk, 1743 utc, Mir was visible with a rocket behind, as two stars in a “train” across the sky; but it then became evident that the mirror was not deployed. The SSTV was on, and this picture was taken from the later pass at 1913 utc. It was followed by darkness.
