What do we get up to when we're not working:
Currently under construction in the garage is a "Storm Petrel" from the Swallow Boatyard in Wales. View the "Boatcam" to how much progress we have made. Photographs of the boat at various points during constuction are here. Some other related photographs are here.
I recently built a new boiler for a 50 year old PV Baker locomotive. Click here for a description and some photographs of construction and of some of the rallies we attended.
We are members of the Staines Society of Model Engineers. Check here soon for a list of events and hopefully some photos and maybe even some excerpts from daily goings-on.
We are both beginner skiers. So far we have slithered down a dry slope a few times in order to prepare ourselves for a trip to Chamonix. For great ski info try the Complete-Skier web site.
We're often to be found bashing round the local geography on our mountain bikes. I ride a '95 Specialized StumpJumper FS and my wife rides a Bontrager Race-Lite. This is a home built around an Extra-Small frame imported from the Santa Cruz frame shop. Now that Uncle Keith has closed the Santa Cruz steel frame shop this is one of the last of its kind.
