An independent or small group activity, with 60 lesson units, for reinforcing word attack skills.
Using the tape, the child stops the recorder at the tone and does the exercises hearing and saying consonants, digraphs, blends and vowels; thinking of the letter sound, tracing over the letter using the letter card, and drawing pictures of objects that have the letter sound.
The Letter Cards (8 1/2 x 11, paper board) allow the child to trace over the letter with his finger, following the RED directional arrows, then print the letter beside his picture. This reinforces the letter-sound connection and develops the muscle habits to form letters correctly.
Practice in seeing and identifying the letter in words.
Practice in hearing the sound of the letter in words.
An exercise in identifying the letter in different words to assure that the letter shape has been learned.
