The Monthly Poem Page

When I started this web site, back in January 1996, I thought it would be a nice idea to publish one poem each month, from those which I've written over the last twenty years or so.

Those best intentions went to the wall as the year as the year went by of course. As other committments got in the way, each month's contribution got just that little bit later.

Then, in August, things got so hectic that the monthly updates stopped altogether as all my spare time for publishing went into the needs of the other side of this site.

One of my few resolutions for 1997 though was to catch up and complete the original plan, for a cycle of twelve of my favourite poems, complemented by the pot-pourri collection which I'd dubbed Christine On... .. the section dedicated to poems on different basic themes.

And now I'm pleased to say that, rather belatedly, it's done. The final four have been chosen, the introductions have been written, the pages formatted, the i's dotted and the t's crossed.

And thank you for the fan mail too. That was a quite unexpected bonus. It's been really nice to get emails out of the blue from around the world. If it hadn't been for that realisation that people actually enjoyed reading this section, then I would probably never have gotten round to finishing it.

Now .. are there any nice friendly web-surfing publishers out there I wonder !
