Yesterday in Oberhausen was a great
night.
I haven't been to a Cure concert since the brussels trilogy show in 2002,
and i must say that the 4 man lineup produces a very different and much more
hevier sound.
Wich isn't always better but impresses a lot.
Plainsong and Prayers for Rain where fantastic and made me stunned.
All in all they played a lot of Disintegration and they did them very
well ( I like the new guitar/keyboard part Robert plays on Lullaby). Kyoto
Song was also a great since it's one of my favourites. FTEOTDGS was also
very great with Porl going wild in the solo. The singles part was a little
bit boring because it was one rock song after another, but Just like heaven
was very good i must say and never enogh was done well also. For the new
songs: A Boy I never Knew is really fantastic, I love it(Porls part reminded
me of some other Cure song, but I couldn't remember). Please Project is a
nice one but Robert did mess up the lyrics.
I was pleased to hear Primary though and Disintegration was very impressing.
The 17 seconds encore: very great(I am always hoping they play the song
17 seconds), love at night.
The second encore started up with firday I'm in love and a very nice Close
to me then got directly into Freak Show, which is a really groovy song, like
it very much. And I was laughing seeing Robert doing this strange movements
like standing on one knee and spreading his arms.
The classic encore was fantastic and I loved Jumping Someone else's tran
and Grinding Halt. Then 10.15 (which I love very much) and a very very very
heavy Killing an Arab. Wow.
It was funny to see that they had some sound problems. There was always
a bunch of workers doing something behind Robert.
The Band seemed to be in very good mood.
So, enough for now, sorry for any mistakes (I am still a german after
all).
Great night, will see them again.

Last night went to see the cure in Oberhausen,
it was my second 4tour gig.
And it was great ofcourse.
Normally i have arena tickets this time i was on the second ring. Now
i had i great overview from the arena.
The sound is much better that when you are upfront.
There where some suprise songs; the figurehead and kyoto song. Never thougth
to hear them.
The crowd was also great. During the encore many people danced and sing
allong.
Normally i go to cure concerts by myself. This time 2 friends went with
me. One is not a cure fan at all, but he enjoyed himself.
Ofcourse he knows all the singles , and they played a lot of them.
Robert sounded very good ! During prayers for raaaaaaaaaaaaaaain...many
people applaused !
This 'new' version of Push is also very well done and i really liked it
!
Tomorrow i go to see them in Rotterdam..and thats it for me. Wanted to
go to London . But got no tickets and had to work anyway,
AND I HOPE THEY PLAY: FAITH AND THE LOVE CATS !!!!!
