Despite the bad soundquality in this gasometer location (almost everyone I know is criticising that fact - even though the architecture is amazing) it was one of my best cure shows ever, due to the fact that I was standing directly in front of Robert and were able to watch him or better to say observe him. He never was in that good mood and funny and happy in a show i attended (bout 15 over the years -quite few comparedto other chainofflowers addicts).

Definately a highlight was the Lullaby fade in fade out thing, then tousling his hair and smiling and ....At night too or Jumping was so adorable with the cool drums solo inbetween! Shake Dog Shake as well and many others.

I am addicted to watch him, he has this total likeable behaviour, kind of funny and child-like. I think he still is a Icon after all these years. Doesnt matter getting old, as we all do. Surprisingly a lot of very young people attended the show, so The Cure still is an important impact to the music-scene.

Please come again to Austria ! Then book a better Location ! Thank you for the show. I loved it!

Well well well, this was my 3rd Cure concert and hopfully not the last one. I left the concert with mixed emotion and if I had to compere it with their shows in 2004 and 2006 in Hungary, I would say that this show was the less exciting and enjoyable for me. I totally agree with those who think that the setlist was not very brave and there were only few surprising songs. The band played almost the same songs as they did in 2006..And a sleepy crowd: I really do not understand those who are making their way into the front with pushing up others just to stand there..Unfotunately most of the fans did not wake up till the last encore.

On the other hand I really loved the way how Robert and Co. performed the songs on stage. The main set started with Open and Fascination Street which are some of my all time favorit live songs. Really powerful and very nice guitar play by Porl. And who needs the keybord if Porl is playing..? Well, I dont. The first surprise for me was The Walk which I think did not really fit in the first part of the concert. However, I loved the live version. Just like the current mixed version of Lullaby, only guitar driven Letter To Elise, Pictures Of You and the very dancy funky rocky Hot Hot Hot!!! Their first new song Please Project has not impressed me a lot. I liked the words but it sounded a bit turned down or with no energy in it. I had the same impression with End Of the Word..The fantastic How Beautiful You Are followed by dynamic Just Like Heaven made my night and made me stay in the back of the hall. People in the back rows were really nice and much much more into the songs.

Anyway, the biggest highlight of the concert for me was hearing the new song  A Boy I Never Knew! I have never thought that this song would sound so nice.. It  was the most emotional and one of the most beautiful song of the concert. The words, the music it was just perfect and I can not wait to hear it on the album. And very very nice memories..J

The concert continued on with the rocking part, nothing special except Wrong Number and End.

Unfortunatley the band played only two encores starting with old songs like Play For Today, a gorgeous and emotional At Night, and the psychedelic A Forest. The crowd woke up when they started playing the Forest. This particular moment was the other highlight for me, hearing all the people in the hall sreeming for more! And they got it in the last encore: the classical Boys Dont Cry, Fire In Cairo, very dancy post punk Jumping Someone Elses Train, Grinding Halt and Killing an Arab. It was a very nice ending and I hope to see them live again soon, sometimes somewhere on this planetJ

I had the feeling before going that I would be disappointed by the show, and I was right.

I am bored of hearing the same songs over and over again in concert : "Open", "Fascination Street", "100 Years", "From the Edge of the Deep
Green Sea", "Just Like Heaven", "Lullaby" (very bad version), "Shake Dog Shake". Of course they are (very) good songs, but, come on, The Cure did not make just 5 albums, there are a lot of songs they do not play so often and which have this "cure" power. Why not playing "Short Term Effect", "Bloodflowers", "Watching me fall", "The Promise", "Holy Hour", "Want", "Last Dance", "Burn", "Scared as You" and I could say so many others, even more pop, like "Doing the Unstuck", "Mint Car", "Torture"... The answer is not that they miss a keyboard, as they played
a lot of songs where there's usually one.

I still thank them for making a sort of effort in this way, playing some good songs they usually do not, like "Push", "A Night Like This" (good
version), "A Letter to Elise" (moving moment in concert), "How Beautiful You Are", but I'd rather hear something else than "Hot Hot Hot" (very
bad song but very funny version), "The Walk" (as bad as it was 25 years ago), "Never Enough", "Wrong Number" (probably their worse song), "End" (not a bad song, but so boring in concert).

Still, I really enjoyed some very good moments : "A Boy I Never Knew" seems to be a very beautiful song ; "Play For Today", in which Robert
changed the rhythm of the lyrics, giving a very interesting version ; good ending solo in "A Forest".
But the very best moment, was definitely the second encore, absolutely genius from the first to the last note.

It was my 4th Cure concert, and it will be the last one.

Come back from Wien, city calm with beautiful Danube. the gasometer, small concert hall. Charming.
65 days of static:  noisy alternative... between mogwai, ride and ned atomic dutsbin... very good.
Then the cure, a happy group, play in Olympic form, correct sound, convincing set list, Robert Smith very happy with the group, having fun to hide behind Porl and Simon...
Lullaby version remix in the middle of the song, Robert asking the group to play less strong. Wrong number very good. Wonderful moment on
Never enough, Robert walk in stage with  microphone. Noisy and strongly shiver and shake.
difficulty sang Robert at the end of "end". Change of word on play for today, Robert forgetting and changing the words but impro is good too, thank you Robert.
Small fault of Gallup on A night like this ,smile of the group (particulary Porl). Jason makes an exploit with 3 hours of show...Difficult for him to maintain the rhythm on certains song..Robert being omnipresent on Jason..

A very very good show (pictures of you, how beautiful you are...). The last encore "1979" extra.....fire in cairo grinding halt....Marvellous..
People very calm, conventional...in spite of 20/30 fans very hot hot in front of the stage (pogo) ...  The Cure give the best ....bonus for me and i think for the group too (59 shows)
Thank you thank you the cure. See you later.

(-) bad acoustics ... 10th row, middle ... robert's voice wasn't clear at all...
sound problems: robert & simon were irritated by some strange noise on the left side of the stage
setlist: the "darker/slower" songs were missing
during please project & abink nearly everybody was either talking or looking around. i liked both songs.
jason made some mistakes... porl & simon grinning (in a good way)
no projections on the back of the stage

(+) sold out
very mixed audience, only a few goths ;D
open, anlt, elise, poy, push -> very energetic
walk, jlh, lovesong worked well with audience
old school encore was awesome ... kicking out one song after the other ... really good!!!!!
robert was in a good mood, had great fun while hiding behind simon & porl.
