A Bonehead is defined (by Websters) as a stupid and obstinate person. Stupid, in turn, is described as being slow-thinking or dull. I maintain that it is quite possible to be financially successful even if you're . . . shall we say . . . slow-thinking? Believe me, I should know. Obstinate is described as being persistent, unyielding, or not easily controlled. Persistence in the fundamentals of personal finance can reap wonderful rewards. I'm not necessarily talking about becoming rich, though that is a definite possibility given enough time. Even more than that, I'm talking about controlling your financial destiny with practical wisdom applied in a persistent manner. This Website is dedicated to that endeavor.
To control your financial destiny, concentrate on the basics; foremost is to save and invest at least 10% of personal income regularly - putting the money in long term growth opportunities (stock mutual funds, for instance). Other important financial basics include: controlling (or stopping) the use of credit cards; minimizing other expenses and taxes; planning and reviewing as much as is practical; and, above all, living below your means (spend less than you make). In total, becoming your own best money manager.
Though not often taught in school (as it should be), the information provided here is common (public) knowledge. Some ideas or arrangements of information, however, are much more useful than others; those attributable to one author or source I'll reference on the page in which they're used.
Finally, you should notice that nothing is being sold on this Website: no fee for my service and no advertising from outside sources. I consider this project community service: giving back to the community some of what I've received through the grace of God. I hope you find this site useful and rewarding.
