FOREWORD

The origin of the universe and all things contained therein by natural processes is widely accepted and proclaimed. The development of the first living organisms and their diversification into all the plants and animals now extant are attributed by many to natural processes. The most widely accepted explanation is usually called the theory of evolution, often taught as a law of nature based on established fact. To question its validity in the intellectual world is virtual heresy.

In THE MYTH OF NATURAL ORIGINS, Ashby Camp has effectively refuted these claims. The book is relatively brief but offers much more than just a superficial survey of the subject. It considers in depth the natural processes which supposedly have achieved such a supergigantic task. It is well organized, well written, and quite readable. The author has thoroughly researched the literature on the subject and has quoted extensively from authorities with outstanding credentials. Mostly these were authorities who affirm natural origins. He has weighed the evidence for natural origins carefully, as would be expected of one with his legal training, and has arrived at the conclusion expressed in the title to his book -- THE MYTH OF NATURAL ORIGINS.

The information in this book should go a long way toward anchoring a faith shaken by exposure to naturalistic teaching. This might be the faith of a young high school or college student who for the first time is encountering such teaching from someone skilled in its presentation. Anyone in a position to counsel such a person would profit from this book -- minister, teacher, professional counsellor, or parent. Furthermore, it should be of interest to anyone who just wants to read an open-minded evaluation of the evidence for natural origins.
