Stitching Links

As with the knitting links, I try to visit all the sites I list, and if possible get in touch with the owners. I don't list sites whose owners request subscriptions from visitors. I've listed the URL's as well as having the actual links, so you can keep the info on a print-out. Let me know if you have good sites to recommend.

Here are a few pages that I have found informative, inspiring or good bases for stitching tours on the net:

Aion Website

Must be the most comprehensive listing of Stitching websites and other resources in the UK. Particularly useful is the list of UK stitching magazines with synopses and contact details, website addresses etc. Friendly and easy to use. Christine-Anne also has her own original cross stitch designs for sale, a cross stitch penpals page, a free pattern every month, and other information pages. No advertisements, banners or other annoyances!

Classic Stitches

Although Classic Stitches is a U.K. magazine, their website is a good resource centre for all things stitch related. There is a Q and A section where you can request advice from experts, a chat line, free charts and more, as well as the usual information about the magazine itself with subscription info etc.

WebStitch

Kai and Denis Chabault are the small design team who run this attractive and user-friendly site based in France. You can choose whether to view the site in French or English by clicking on the appropriate flag, and there are listings of French language cross-stitch sites as well as English language ones. They have a catalogue of their own cross-stitch designs for sale featuring ethnic and traditional designs and some free charts you can download.

About.com guide to needlepoint

If you're prepared to put up with all the usual "dot com" advertising stuff littered round the edge of the pages, the About.com websites are good all round resource sites for the topics they cover, and this includes the needlepoint guide. Each topic (and other fibrecrafts are covered too, in particular knitting) is hosted by an expert in the field.
