"I have seen significant muscle increase in every person I tested on the Proteabolic powder. Here is something that works over and over again."
Ken Lain, World Bench Press Champion - 765 lbs.
Owner and Manager, Power Shack
"After being stagnated for over three years with no muscle gains, in just six weeks on the Proteabolic program, I gained over 19 pounds, 17 of that being solid muscle. This product and program is the most amazing breakthrough I've ever seen."
Scott Bruggeman, Natural Body Builder
212 pounds to 231 pounds in six weeks
Doug Grant, Infinity2's Executive Director of Health Services, has rubbed shoulders with world class athletes for years, both in competition and as a trainer and consultant to athletes in many fields. As a nutritionist and a professional trainer, Doug has been aware of the needs of athletes and has spend countless hours of research and study looking into exactly what kinds of nutrients would meet those needs.
In formulating Proteabolic, Doug knew that many athletes needed and wanted to increase their muscle mass. He knew that many athletes look to steroids to achieve these gains, and that other products on the market were creating steroid like responses (and hence steroid like effects) in the body. Steroids and steroid mimickers dam up a hormone in the body called "cortisol". Not only does this cortisol blocking put undue pressure on the liver and other organs, it does not provide lasting results; as soon as the products are discontinued, the cortisol is released and massive, almost immediate loss occurs.
Steroids and their copycats actually take users past the genetic limit, working against the body and its natural workings to create size that can not be effectively supported by the organs of the body.
Doug's research led him to believe that there were more effective, more natural ways to allow the body to experience optimum genetic effects. He saw how creating balance, using, rather than abusing, the body's own ability to build muscle could result in gains that were not only safe, but even greater and longer lasting than those achieved with steroids. He believed the key was not to simply eliminate the hormone which interfered with growth. Instead, he looked at ways to work in conjunction with bio-chemistry of the body to provide the necessary nutrients at a cellular level to promote maximum genetic growth.
His careful study led to the hypothesis that a certain exact combination of protein and other nutrients would produce the results athletes were looking for. He designed a protein powder and a nutrient blend, called Proteabolic, along with a complete program of exercise and diet, and then put them to the test in a double blind study. His theory was that this approach would show not a blocking of cortisol, but a reduction in cortisol levels, accompanied by even greater weight and size gains than achieved with steroids. He also believed that albumen and urea nitrogen tests, after using Proteabolic, would show that the body was in an anabolic (growth) state.
Using the Nutrition and Strength Clinic and trainers, Doug performed a double blind study which convincingly showed the effectiveness of the Proteabolic Mass Program and supplements.
Twelve participants were put on complete program of diet, exercise and Proteabolic supplementation, while twelve others followed a program of diet and exercise, but were given placebo supplements.
The six-week study included blood work at the beginning of the program, at the end of the third week and at the end of the sixth week. At each of these intervals blood was drawn and tested before exercise, immediately following exercise and four hours after exercise.
Scale weight, body fat measurements, and circumference measurements were also taken at the beginning of the study, at the end of the third week and at the end of the sixth week. Photographs of each of the subjects in six different poses were taken at the same intervals.
This report is designed for the layman for the purpose of highlighting some of the results and the findings of the study. A more extensive study following the exact protocols as outlined in the well known Netherlands steroid study (1), is now being conducted. Complete findings of this study will be reported in peer review journals.
As mentioned above, one of the important factors that Doug wanted to validate in this study is whether the Proteabolic program would cause a reduction in cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone which catabolizes muscle. When a muscle is put under stress, cortisol is released and actually blocks the muscle growth. In other words, it is cortisol which acts as a check and balance system in the body to make sure muscles don't get to big or to strong ( and thus place too muck demand on the body and throw the system out of balance). While this hormone is essential to the body, most people secrete too much cortisol. Cortisol levels are increased because of physiological stress, such as exercise and lack of sleep, but also due to emotional or environmental stress.(2) (3) It is important for both athletes and non-athletes to minimize catabolism of muscle by maintaining cortisol levels.
It is a well known fact that one of the main reasons people abuse anabolic steroids is because of their effect on cortisol. Steroids create an unnatural damming up of cortisol which places excess pressure on the liver and other organs. However, this is not only harmful, it is also the reason for the massive decrease in muscle size and strength which occurs as soon as a person goes off steroids and the cortisol which has been dammed up is released. Doug knew the answer was not to block cortisol but to reduce it to normal levels so the body would be allowed to grow to its genetic potential. As proven in this study, his Proteabolic formulation effectively reduces cortisol without harmful blocking.
One of the ingredients which contributes to this important and impressive result is the form of chromium included in Proteabolic. Research has proven that using this specific form of our patented chromium chelate (not picolinate) can significantly reduce cortisol levels (4) (5). This patented form of chromium along with other nutrients in Proteabolic showed phenomenal cortisol reductions in the participants blood profile in our study.
Name : Garren Whitley ( on Proteabolic)
Conclusion:Garren's cortisol levels throughout the program showed a decrease both before and after the workouts. By the sixth week, the levels four hours after workout were particularly significant.
Cortisol...............3/8/95..3/29/95..4/17/95
Before workout......18.8........12.0........11.6
After workout.........30.1........14.1........16.2
4Hrs After workout................18.6..........6.4
Name: Clyde Bawden (on Proteabolic)
Conclusion: The decrease in Clyde's cortisol level was particularly dramatic after working out in his third week of being on the Proteabolic program.
Cortisol...........................3/29/95...4/17/95
After workout......................22.3..........16.6
Name: Dave Thomas
Conclusion: Some interesting results were seen in this participant's blood work. Dave began the program on placebos. After three weeks, he was placed on the Proteabolic for the remainder of the study. His blood work showed cortisol levels increased the first three weeks while Dave was on the placebo and decreased when he started on the Proteabolic formulations.
Cortisol...............3/8/95.....3/29/95...4/17/95
4 hrs a. workout....7.1............8.2............7.0
Numbers below show the effect on the cortisol levels of participants who had the same high caloric intake and the same exercise program, but were on placebo supplements.

Jason
Cortisol..............3/29/95...4/17/95
Before workout...6.1.............11.1
After workout.....17.9............22.1
Note: While these participants do show an elevation in cortisol, their levels also show the effectiveness of the Proteabolic workout. Cortisol levels were not increased as dramatically as they might have been had participants exercised for a longer period of time using more stressful techniques. This shows the importance of a number of different factors, demonstrating that a wholistic approach to muscle building is what is essential, not just supplementation.
The double blind study at Nutrition and Strength also showed favorable urea nitrogen and albumen levels for the group on the Proteabolic products. Both Nitrogen and albumen are popular ways to monitor positive growth state in the body.
As mentioned earlier, body weight and body fat amounts were measured. The following numbers show some of the results of those who followed the full program, including the Proteabolic formulations.
Jeff....................Before.....After
Weight.........................193.........209
Total body fat %..........9.4..........10.4
Dave T..............Before.....After

In comparing this with the well know study from the Netherlands which showed that body builders who took the well-known anabolic steroid nandralone decanoate, gained an average of 5 pounds. So, you can see, comparing these two studies, it is obvious there were increased gains using the Proteabolic program. We are currently working on a study with the exact parameters used in the Netherlands study which will show even mare dramatic results.
Exact formulations and amounts used in our study were as follows:
Digest-a-Meal ( Digestive enzyme).....2 before each meal
Lipo-chromizyme(Metabolizer)............1 Morning and night, 2 during workout and 1 two hours after workout
Life force (Antioxidant).........................2 morning and 2 night
Proteabolic............................................1 serving twice daily
Nutrition...................................................As outlined in the Proteabolic Mass Program, participant's caloric intake was based on body weight, multiplied by 20 plus 300 to 500 calories.
Exercise...................................................Proteabolic Mass/strength training protocol three times a week.
Once we had completed the double blind study and saw how well the program worked for amateur-athletes and for people who were semi active, wanted to study and document the results for more elite professional athletes. We saw the same results for these individuals.
One athlete in particular, Scott Bruggeman, a well known natural body builder who has competed for years on a national level demonstrated significant gains.
He had reached a plateau and had not been able to break through that for years. With the Proteabolic program, he was able to gain 19 pounds, 15 pounds of lean muscle on Doug's six week program. His blood work showed significant decreases in cortisol levels and increases in albumen levels.
Name: Scott Bruggeman ( on Proteabolic)
Conclusion: Scott's cortisol levels decreased and albumen showed marked increase. These blood work results had corresponding increases in body weight while body fat remained low.
