Dear Sir
Thank you for your reply. I will try to tell you what my daughter
saw in as few words as possible and not make it long winded.
The place where she saw the "ghost" was the derelict
WD red brick buildings on the right hand side of the bridge.
The part of the building where the entity was,is the piece that
is about the size of a garage and is fairly complete.Where she
sighted it from was as we were walking along the runway towards
the new excavations.
What my daughter saw was a person with both his hands on the wall,
peering round the side of it. She saw the left hand side of his
body and his head. He was wearing a green flat topped peaked cap
and a green uniform of which she could see the buttons. He was
staring in our direction.
We were walking slightly ahead of my daughter, she came running up to us in an agitated state and wanted to go. She stopped again looked back as we carried on walking. She ran to catch up with us again, this time she was agitated, upset and burst into tears and had to go back to the car. What she saw the second time was as the first, but my daughter felt this time that he was going to come out of the building towards us. Although the person looked solid the whole senario did not seem right to her. This happened on 2/8/01 at about 4:pm.
I didn't get the full story out of her until about 9:00pm , she was still agitated and had difficulty going to sleep that night.
I am a collector of militaria , mainly world war one and medals. My daughter has been around this since she was born , but finds it boring. We have spoken about the Montrose ghost before, so I went onto your website and showed her the picture of Desmond Arthur, her eyes about popped out of her head. She said that is who she saw, she was genuinely shaken. I have no reason to disbelieve my daughter. I hope this is of some interest to you.
Please feel free to contact me for any further information.
I will pop back to Montrose to visit the museum, but unfortunately
it will be a while before my youngest daughter will. Sorry this
e-mail still seems a bit long winded.
