Montrose Air Station Museum Society is the active element of Montrose Air Station Museum, which is administered by Montrose Air Station Museum Trust.

The Museum is numbered RD450 within the Museums and Galleries Scheme for the registration of British Museums.

The Society is recognized by the Inland Revenue as a Charity.

Montrose Air Station Museum Trust is a member of the Royal Air Force Historical Society, The Scottish Museums Council, Angus Museums Forum, Angus and Dundee Tourist Board and the British Aviation Preservation Council.

Montrose Air Station Museum contains both Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force sections, along with various other elements representing users of the Air Station since its establishment on February 26th 1913.
