CESM cover Cambridge English for the Scuola Media (CUP) is a refreshing, new approach to teaching English in the Italian Scuola Media. It is based on educational principles and features:
- cross-curricular topics
- learner-choice and decision-making
- a clearly-structured, active approach to grammar and vocabulary learning.
- 'Culture Matters' units about life in Britain and the United States of America
- The Parcel of English link up scheme, which allows a class using the course to link up with a class in another country.

For teachers, the course includes an A to Z of Methodology, and a full rationale which explains educational principles in language teaching. Both are available at this web site, as well as the syllabus maps.

The course was piloted with over 5000 students and is now in use in schools throughout Italy.
