  • Cambridge English for Schools(CUP) is a course in English for young students.

It is based on educational principles and features cross-curricular topics, learner-choice and decision-making with a clearly-structured, active approach to grammar and vocabulary learning. The course was piloted with over 5000 students.

For teachers, the course includes an A to Z of Methodology, and a full rationale which explains educational principles in language teaching. Both are available at this web site, as well as the syllabus maps for each level. The course is also available in adapted versions for learners in Spain(Spanish and Catalan), Italy, Poland, Brazil and Mexico, and as a shorter version, Cambridge English Worldwide, for classes with fewer hours.

All components of all levels of the course are now fully available:

Starter level - for complete beginners ('New look' available)
Level 1 - for false beginners ('New look' available)
Level 2 - for students with approx. one year of English. ('New look' available)
Level 3 - for students with approx. two years of English
Level 4 - for students with approx. three years of English

Each level consists of a Student's Book, Workbook and cassette, Teacher's Book and a set of class cassettes. There are also videos to accompany every level of the course and tests now available for Starter, Level 1 and Level 2.  Extra support is available at the Cambridge English for Schools website: www.cambridge.org/elt/ces

'New Look' versions  Starter, Level 1 and Level 2 are now available in 'New Look' versions.  The content and tasks of the material is unchanged, but the students' books now have an even clearer and more accessible design, which clearly shows the teaching focus of each exercise. 'Old look' and 'New look' versions can be used in the same classroom at the same time.  See a sample of the New Look pages.
