Brooke fumes that Katie had sex with Nick.
Brooke fumes that Katie had sex with Nick and got pregnant with his child. Katie explains that she didn't think it was possible with all the medication she took and her body rejecting her heart, and she only made love to Nick once. Brooke scoffs that it won't matter to Bridget how many times it happened, since this will reopen all the old wounds that Bridget overcame. Katie agrees that Bridget will be hurt, but that doesn't change the fact that she and Nick defied the odds to bring a child into the world. Brooke frets that this will be Bridget's worst nightmare. Katie doesn't think Bridget has anything to fear from her, but Brooke charges, "You had sex with her husband!" Katie asks her not to make it sound so ugly, since Nick made her feel alive. She's sure Nick can make Bridget understand. Brooke wants to talk to Nick, but Katie doesn't think that's a good idea, since Nick is preparing to tell Bridget the truth right now. Brooke tells Katie that she knows her daughter, and no matter how generous and kind Bridget is, there is nothing Nick can do to prepare Bridget to accept this. She's sure this will break Bridget's heart.

Katie refuses to think of her baby as a mistake.
Katie tells Brooke that she has felt such shame over what happened, but she refuses to think of the baby inside her as a mistake. Brooke asks Katie how far along she is. Katie says she's at the end of her first trimester, which is a milestone. She explains that she and Nick waited until they knew the baby was safe to tell Bridget, but she's thrilled that everything has seemed fine up until this point. So there could be problems, Brooke surmises. Katie explains that the pregnancy is extremely high risk for both her and the baby, but it's a risk she is willing to take. She admits it kills her to know that this will hurt Bridget, which is why she hopes that Bridget can find it in her big, compassionate heart to forgive her. "That may not be possible," Brooke warns, recalling all the acts of kindness Bridget showed Katie since Katie received Storm's heart. "This could possibly be the end of her world," Brooke frets.

Bridget asks Nick what's on his mind.
On the deck of the Shady Marlin, Bridget asks Nick what's on his mind. "You," Nick answers. Bridget senses that he has more than just her on his mind, but she doesn't really care what it is as long as she's here in his arms. She's glad to have some time alone with him without some crisis looming for them to manage. Nick says there's a crisis around every corner, but Bridget takes it as a challenge to overcome those. Nick tells her to think of it however she wants, since he's just happy to be alone with her. Bridget agrees and suggests that they spend more time alone here on the Marlin like this. Nick laughs that his busy doctor wouldn't suggest something like that, but Bridget tells him that she never wants to be too busy for him, since she feels safe and protected when they are together like this. She starts to kiss him, but Nick tells her that he has something to tell her. Bridget cuts him off and keeps kissing him, leading him below deck to the bed where they make love.

Nick tells Bridget that something happened in Catalina.
As they bask in the afterglow, Nick tells Bridget how much he loves her. He assures her that he wouldn't have asked her to remarry him if he couldn't make her happy. Bridget assures him that he does make her happy. Nick doesn't want that to ever change, but he notes how you sometimes wind up hurting the people you want to protect the most. Bridget asks where all this is coming from. Nick tells her again that he has something to tell her. Sensing that this is serious, Bridget tells him to go ahead. Nick reminds her of the time he took Katie out on the Marlin when they thought Katie was dying. "When you took her to Catalina?" Bridget asks. "Yes. Something happened on Catalina," Nick affirms. Bridget is silent.

Eric is confused as he wakes up.
In the hospital, Stephanie is thrilled to see that Eric is awake. Eric seems a bit out of it, so Stephanie asks if she knows who she is. Eric nods, unable to form the words to answer his ex-wife . Stephanie explains that he was brought here after he had a heart attack while at home with Donna. Eric starts to look around for Donna, but Stephanie tells him that Donna is not here now. She assures him that Donna has been here to see him every day, as have the children, and they've all been praying for him to come back to them. She wants to tell the doctors that he's awake and promises to call Donna and the children as well, but she doesn't want to leave him now that he's back. "I just don't want to leave you," she states, kissing him on the lips. Realizing that he has a lot of questions, Stephanie goes to call the doctors, but Eric grunts, so she assures him that she'll call Donna right away.

An on-the-run Pam calls her sister.
Just then, Stephanie gets a call on her cell phone from an on-the-run Pam, who asks Stephanie not to say who it is. When Stephanie blurts out Pam's name, Pam cautions her not to do that, since the police might be monitoring her phone. Stephanie tells Pam to let her know where she is so the two of them can meet, but Pam fears her sister is trying to trap her. Stephanie assures Pam that she just wants to help her, but Pam laments that everything that happened is Donna's fault. "She should pay the price," Pam cries. Stephanie tells her sister not to talk that way, reminding Pam that she doesn't think clearly when she stops taking her medication. Pam begs Stephanie to forgive her. Stephanie says that she forgives her, but she wants to meet with Pam before the police find her. Convinced that the police won't locate her, Pam tells her sister that she'll do anything for her and promises to stay close. Stephanie pleads with Pam not to hang up, but she does.

Donna and Owen grow closer.
At the Forrester mansion, Donna makes out with Owen on her bed, but she pulls away. She can't stop thinking about Eric, but being here with Owen feels right to her after everything he has done for her. Owen reminds her that Eric wanted her to find happiness. But that was after he was gone, Donna points out, and he's still here. "We can make each other so happy," Owen tells her. Donna tells him that she wants to be with him, but she can't while she's still Eric's wife. But that doesn't stop her from being lonely, Owen counters, insisting that Eric loves her too much to ever want her to be lonely. Donna passionately kisses Owen, and things get hot and heavy between them. They start to undress as a shadowy figure enters the house downstairs and goes up the stairs to the bedroom. Donna and Owen are going at it with such intensity that they don't notice when the figure opens the door. Stephanie silently stands in the doorway, stunned to see how passionate Owen and Donna are in bed.

Stephanie makes a promise to Eric.
Stephanie returns to the hospital, where she finds Eric lying in bed with his eyes closed. A nurse assures her that Eric is still conscious and is just sleeping, and she passes on a message from Dr. Siefert asking Stephanie to call him. Stephanie asks if Eric is all right. He's conscious, the nurse assures, and that's a big step forward. After the nurse leaves, Stephanie walks over to Eric's bedside. The images of Donna and Owen in bed replay in her head as she watches Eric lying there and rage fills her eyes. She fumes, "She couldn't wait for you, that bitch. She wasn't here when you woke up. I was. I was right by your side where I belong." Lamenting that she couldn't protect him from Pam, Stephanie promises the sleeping Eric that she'll shield him from this. "You've taken your first steps back-- back to me, to our family, to our life together, to what you really deserve," she states as she kisses Eric again.
